How to install handrail to a concrete wall

Handrail can be fixed directly to a concrete wall by using a wall plate fitting, known as the 131. The 131 is one of the most popular clamps due to its versatility and ease of use.

To fix the 131-wall plate to a concrete wall: –

Things needed: –

131 wall plate

Fixing bolts – 8mm wall anchors recommended

Drill and bit – 10mm for 8mm wall anchors

Spanner – To tighten fixing bolts

Step 1:
Find the final position and offer up the wall plate. Using the four holes, make a pencil mark.
Step 2:
Using a 10mm masonry drill bit, with a hammer drill and using the appropriate Protective equipment, drill the four holes to the depth required.
Step 3:
Place the wall anchors into the holes. A hammer may be needed.
Step 4:
Place the wall plate fitting on to the anchor bolts and tighten the nuts.
Step 5:
Your wall plate is now ready for your handrail.
